The last three posts are photographs taken in Sicilia’s ceramic city, Caltagirone. Japanese tourists and Sicilian wedding are both located at the top of the Scalinata di Santa Maria del Monte – notice the same mural in both of them. The famous staircase has 142 steps decorated with differently patterned tiles on every rise. It is a long, tough climb to the church at the top! The stairs are decorated with candles at the feast of Saint James 24th – 25th July and on our visit in June red, white and green plants had been positioned to make a floral display. Watch out for that picture at a later date!
